BMW Oil Leaks
BMW Repair…those are two words that can sound scary together, but they don’t have to be.
A BMW, just like a person, will have a longer, happier life if it is regularly checked up to make sure small problems don’t turn in to large problems.
A great example of this can be something like an engine oil leak on your BMW. When we think of the consequences of deferring and oil leak repair, the things that come to mind are stained driveways, or even the engine running out of oil, if left unchecked.
But several other things can happen as well. We frequently see components that are not designed to be in contact with engine oil, fail due to an oil leak. Items such as radiator hoses, engine drive belts, and in the case of modern BMW models, even the electric water pump can be damaged by oil leaking on to it.
This increases not only the cost of the repairs, but also requires additional downtime of your BMW in the shop, which is less convenient.
Periodic inspections of your BMW during service are the best way to catch these problems early on. We recommend having your BMW checked on a bi-annual basis to ensure everything is working as designed and oil leaks are caught before they become big problems.
